Spring Guidelines
Guidelines are mailed home to each parent prior to class as part of the "student packet."Once enrolled in the EXCEL program, students and parents are asked to read the guidelines together and follow them while students are on the Sonoma State University campus.Bring a copy of your registation form to the instructor when dropping off your child, and make certain you have read the information on this page.
Drop Off and Pick Up:
Parents: Please escort your child to the door of their classroom before class and pick them up there promptly after class. If children are left late they will be taken to the Public Safety Office (refer to map for location). If you have an emergency you can call the Extended Education office in Stevenson Hall, room 1012, at 664-2394 before 11 A.M. or the Public Safety Office at 664-2143. The Extended Education office is closed at 11 A.M.
Parking:
All parking is free on weekends at SSU.
Lunch:
Please send your child with a sack lunch, drink and a snack for break time,
as there are no food services on the campus on weekends. Students remain
with their teachers for a supervised lunch, usually outdoors, weather permitting.
Medical Conditions:
If your child has any medical conditions that we should know about please inform
Alison Marks, the EXCEL Coordinator before class
begins. This is especially important if special arrangements need to be made
for your child.
Behavior:
Please remember that taking classes
at the University is a privilege. Students are expected to be respectful
of other people on campus and of campus equipment and property. When
you are inside a building, please keep your conversation quiet, do
not run in the halls, and do not play with equipment such as elevators
or automatic door openers. When you are in class it is important
to remember that other students are also trying to learn and that
you must behave with respect toward them and your teacher. A teacher
has the right to ask you to leave his or her class if you are acting
in a way that interferes with other students work or is inappropriate.
Students asked to leave for disciplinary reasons will forfeit all
tuition and fees.
Liability:
Please remember that you may be working with sensitive equipment. Your parents
are financially responsible for loss or damage that you may cause to this equipment.
Refund:
We would also like to remind you that there is a non-refundable cancellation
fee.
We are very excited about the Excel program planned for this spring.
If you have any questions or special needs, please feel free to call. Were
looking forward to seeing you!
