2008-09 Financial Aid Award Notifications

Financial Aid Award Notifications are being mailed to students newly admitted to SSU for the Fall 2008 semester on a rolling basis. Continuing students will receive an email to their SSU email account mid-June, which is when their financial aid awards will be available for viewing through Self Service.

PLEASE NOTE: Financial aid applicants who have not submitted all of the documentation listed in their To Do List notifications may experience a delay in receiving their award notification until all documentation has been received and reviewed. Exception: Students who appear to be eligible only for federal student and/or parent loans may receive their award notification prior to the submission and review of all items in the To Do List.

Summer 2008 Financial Aid

Summer 2008 Financial Aid Request Forms will be available at the Financial Aid Counter on the first floor of Salazar Hall after March 24. To receive summer financial aid, you must be enrolled in the regular university summer session and have had a financial aid award in place at SSU for Fall 2007 and/or Spring 2008. Extended Education courses do not qualify. If you received a State University Grant(SUG) for Fall and/or Spring, you may be eligible for up to $1,200 (SUG) for summer. Also, Pell Grant recipients who did not attend full-time both Fall and Spring, and students who did not borrow their annual maximum in Direct Loan funding, may be eligible for aid from those programs for summer.

Summer fees are due when you register for classes, unless you are eligible for financial aid. The last day to drop summer classes with a full refund of fees is May 30, 2008. In order to ensure your summer financial aid eligibility has been determined prior to the full refund deadline, you must submit your Summer 2008 Financial Aid Request Form by Friday, May 16, 2008.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of a change in federal regulations, students may not defer their Summer 2008 fees to be paid from their Fall 2008 financial aid disbursement.
