Welcome to our 2006 Class!        Bienvenidos!

Together we will learn why and what countries trade; who benefit from trade; how growth affects trade and how trade affects growth; why some countries invest in other countries and why people migrate. We will also look at the financial side and learn about the balance of payment and the exchange rate. We will learn to relate theories with reality and will consider issues about economic globalization and fair trade.

. . ...... How to Use this Home Page

1. Completing this class requires that you engage in twp major activities: learning the issues and conceptual frameworks of International Economics ; and doing a research project and paper. These activities are organized in 15 Study Units. These home- page lists the 15 Study Units. If you work on each study unit in the established order you can achieve the learning objectives of the class with proficiency.
2. This home-page is an important complement but not a substitute for my lectures, our dialogues in the class, and the group presentations.
3. Just click on Unit 1 and you will get a sense of the process.
4. You will need to work in this home-page, at least three days per week to maintain regularity in your learning process. If you are able to establish a routine you will improve your productivity and, hopefully, will broaden you interest on social issues and will learn to discern about them.
