STUDENT HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SHAC)

The Student Health Advisory Committee is a campus group made up primarily of students that serves an advisory, liaison, and out reach function between students, The Student Health Center, and the campus Administration.

The Goal of SHAC is to assist the Student Health Center in promoting the general health and well being of SSU students, including facilitating, publicizing, and improving Student Health Center Services. To this end, SHAC periodically obtains and evaluates information regarding the health concerns and health care needs of students, including Student Health Center programs and policies and utilizes this information in making recommendations to the campus and the Health Center.

SHAC members are also involved in various outreach projects including Blood Drives, CPR training, Health Fairs, and other projects of their choosing.

Voting Student Members are appointed by the Associated Students, although general membership is open to all regularly enrolled SSU Students.

SHAC meetings are open, and may be attended by any student who has an interest or concern.

Please contact the Director of the Student Health Center, Georgia Schwartz, M.D., or Toni Boracchia, R.N., at 707-664-2921 for more information.

Meetings are held from 12 noon to 1:00 pm in the Student Health Center Conference Room #175 every other Thursday during Fall and Spring semester.
