MINUTES

If you are on campus and can access the SSU-5 server, you can view approximately the last two years of minutes for the Senate. Executive Committee minutes are also on the SSU-5 server. Eventually, we hope to have a larger digital archive of Senate minutes. Keep reading for more information about the SSU-5 server.

The Senate is now digital!

Digital recording of Senate and Executive Committee meetings are available now on the SSU-5 server.

For PC users. if you do not already have a shortcut to or access to the SSU-5 server, Choose START, then RUN, then type in \\SSU-5 and press enter. At the SSU-5 server site, you will see a site for the Academic Senate.

From a Mac, first you will need to get a username and password for the SSU-5 server from the Help Desk in IT. Then in the Finder under GO select CONNECT TO SERVER. In the window that comes up for SERVER ADDRESS type afp://ssu-5. Click connect. You will get a log in screen. Enter your user name and password. A list of servers will come up - choose Academic Senate. A window of the Academic Senate server site will open.

On the Academic Senate site are two folders labeled Executive Committee Minutes and Senate Meeting Minutes. Those two folders are accessible to anyone on sonoma.edu. Look in the folders of the Senate and Executive minutes. The folders with date labels such as Senate4_28_05 are the digital recordings. Inside that folder double click on the SoniClearPlayer.html doc. DO NOT OPEN ANY OTHER FILE IN THAT FOLDER PLEASE. SoniClearPlayer.html doc will open any web browser on your machine and display and play the meeting recording with time stamped agenda items. Your browser needs to have a flash plug-in. It's very cool.

If you have any problems or questions accessing the digital archive of the Senate, please contact the Senate office at X42801 or email laurel.holmstrom@sonoma.edu or stop by ST1071.

To get the complete minutes prior to Fall 2000 in electronic format, please email the Senate office with the complete date of the Senate meeting minutes you desire and what format you need them in (Mac or .rtf) and they will be returned to you via email, if possible. Earlier minutes may or may not be in an electronic format.

For minutes of other Senate committee meetings, please email the Senate office with the name of the committee, date of meeting and format desired and, if the minutes are available and approved, they will be emailed back.

Abstracts for the Senate meetings are also available from the Senate office. These can be helpful to find what items were discussed, approved, etc. at what meeting. Abstracts are available electronically from the Senate office via email.
