Priority 1: Focuses on record keeping, reporting student and program
performance, and evaluating project performance. Trainees will understand
the guiding principles needed to develop a model project that will excel
during a site visit/audit.
Priority 2: Enhancing partnerships to build model programs: This training
focuses on budget management, the statutory and regulatory requirements
for operation of TRIO project, and improving institutional relations. There
is also an Institutional Team version of this training open to non-TRIO staff
who work with and support TRIO project grants.
Priority 5: Focuses on proven strategies for recruiting and serving
hard-to-reach populations—including students who are limited English
proficient, students from groups who are traditionally underrepresented
in postsecondary education, students who are individuals with disabilities,
students who are homeless children and youth, students who are foster
care youth, or other disconnected students. The new methods and strategies
introduced in this training are applicable for all students.
