What is Sonoma State University's role in this
project? Two of Sonoma State University Auxiliary Corporations are playing major roles in the Green Music Center Project. These auxiliaries are public service, not-for-profit corporations that have been designated by the IRS as organizations exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Sonoma State University Academic Foundation, Inc. (SSUAF) serves as the legal entity that is receiving and investing donations given to benefit SSU activities. The Sonoma State Enterprises, Inc. (SSE) serves the SSU community by providing a campus bookstore, food service venues, and other related commercial type operations. To facilitate the design and construction of the Green Music Center, SSU has designated SSE as the contractor of record. SSUAF is the recipient of all donations made to GMC. The SSUAF reimburses the SSE as expenditures are made.

How much did SSU spend on acquiring the land on which
the north parking lot will sit?
What operating costs are being anticipated? ¥ Facilities Management including maintenance, custodial,
and landscape services
How will these be covered? Historically, the California State University has provided campuses with resources to support facilities management and utility costs associated with new University buildings. The University is hopeful that the Green Music Center will be able to utilize this fund source for facilities and utility costs. As part of the University's projected enrollment growth, new resources for direct instruction and academic support are anticipated from the CSU budget. It is likely that a portion of these dollars will be allocated to the School of Arts and Humanities and its Center for Performing Arts which will operate the academic component of the Green Music Center. Ticket revenue for events held at the Green Music Center, combined with corporate sponsorships are primary revenue sources for programming expenses. Various fees built into each ticket price combined with annual revenue received from rental of the facility to outside organizations, annual revenue from the Santa Rosa Symphony, annual fundraising efforts, and an operating endowment will assist the University with costs associated marketing, fundraising, administrative support and audience services. In addition, the University anticipates synergies with existing University administrative departments can be fully developed in this regard.
Will bond monies be used? Information is regarding the bond-financed parking expansion project mandated by enrollment growth can be found at the following locations: http://www.calstate.edu/BOT/Agendas/May01/Finance.pdf http://www.calstate.edu/BOT/Resolutions/May2001.pdf
