WHAT'S THE BUZZ: ON WHO
IS MOVING TO SALAZAR HALL
Wondering which specific departments / programs will move into Salazar
Hall when it is completed this August? Here is the final lis of departments
that will begin to move in Augustt:
Vice Provost
Admissions & Records
Advising Center & EOP
Career and Transitional Programs
Disabled Student Services
Enrollment Services
International Services
Learning Skills Services
Tutorial Program
Vice President for Administration and Finance
Conferences and Events
Customer Services
Entrepreneurial Services
Financial Services
Financial Aid
Human Services
11 General Purpose Classrooms
Computer Science, Math, Engineering Science Laboratories
Journalism Laboratory
STAR Production Laboratory
Technology High School (11 classrooms)
English Department Laboratory
Vending machine area with seating (similar to Darwin & Stevenson lobbies)
The schedule for move-in remains the same (August 1 to move in, August
28, first day of classes, for opening date of building [some areas may
not be fully operational on opening day] ). Salazar Hall will be coated
with a beige color paint similar to that of the Schulz Information Center.
The window frames on Salazar are an attractive blue color.
Salazar Hall is being built well above current environmental requirements
for a structure of this size and nature. The solar panels, cooling and
heating system, energy efficient lighting with dual switching, day-lighting
and window glazing are environmental considerations which allow the building
to be designated a "Green" building. Salazar Hall is expected
to be 49% better in energy utilization than Title 24 requires.
