WHAT'S THE BUZZ ON THE TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL?
Have you noticed the younger looking SSU students this fall?
They may be SSU students, but are probably Technology High School students.
Located on the first floor of the newly renovated Ruben Salazar Hall,
Tech High is a program of the Cotati-Rohnert Park School District and
offers integrated mathematics, science, and engineering courses to nearly
200 9-12th grade students. Ninth grade students also enroll in physical
education and humanities at the University. Tenth, eleventh, and twelfth
grade students spend part of their day at Tech High and part at Rancho
Cotate High School where students enroll in English, social studies, foreign
language, and other electives. Tech High students are taught by high school
teachers.
Prior to its move to Salazar, Tech High was located for three years on
the northwest side of SSU, near the Residence Halls and the Environmental
Technology Center.
The Technology High School offers students the opportunity to experience
a rigorous integrated curriculum using project-based learning and state-of-the-art
technology. Community and business partnerships have been established
with the Tech High to assist with program development and evaluation.
The goal of Tech High is to prepare students for college and beyond. Twenty
percent of the annual enrollment is open to students from outside the
Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District.
