Learning Activity 05: Step 1 Complete by end of the 1st week of Part 05: Select one of the following learning activities to do. Use the forum for Learning Activities for Part 5 in WebCT for Nurs 400A or Nurs 400B to post what you do in the activity. 1. Below is a list of variables. Assume that you have data from 500 nurses on these variables. Develop several hypotheses regarding the relationships among these variables and indicate what statistical tests you would use to test your hypotheses. (See if your classmates agree with you in next week's discussion.) Number of years of nursing experience Type of employment setting (hospital, outpatient clinic, public health clinic, etc.) Salary Marital status Job satisfaction ("satisfied," "neutral," "dissatisfied") Number of children under age 18 Gender   2. Illustrate how you would use both factor analysis and ANCOVA in a study by describing the study and giving a very brief outline of its design.   3. Ask 4 or 5 people to write a paragraph on their feelings about the death of a parent. Perform a thematic analysis of these paragraphs. Present your findings.   4. Develop three research questions that you think might lend themselves to a qualitative study related to a clinical issue that interests you. Briefly explain the methodology you would use to obtain and analyze the data.
