FOR STUDENTS

Student Leadership in the Center for Community Engagement

There are several opportunities for students to take a more active role in promoting community engagement at Sonoma State University and to receive recognition for their involvement. To learn more about service-learning, please see the service-learning information on this web page listed under resources for faculty members.

SERVICE-LEARNING TEACHING ASSISTANTS

Service-Learning Peer Mentors (SLPMs) work with faculty members who teach service-learning sections of UNIV 102.  SLPMs receive full training from the CCE in service-learning best practices, including creating reciprocal relationships with community partners, leading orientation and reflective analysis activities as a tool for deeper learning, and risk management best practices.  You will receive federal work-study or 3 units.  To become a SLPM, contact the CCE (664-3202).

AMERICORPS PROMISE FELLOWS

AmeriCorps is a national service organization.  We have two positions available to strengthen our community partnerships.  One is with Burbank Housing and the other is with the Roseland Community Schools and Landpaths
