Charge of the Academic Affairs Budget Advisory Committee (AABAC)

 

Name of Committee: Academic Affairs Budget Advisory Committee ( AABAC) formerly VPBAC (name changed on December 14, 2004)

Established: February 1988, after consultation and approval of the Academic Senate Executive Committee. Recommendation for formation of Vice President's Budget Advisory Committee and its membership was made to the Senate by the President.

Reports To: Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Membership: Provost/VPAA (Chair); Associate Vice President for Academic Resources; Vice Provost; Chair and Chair-elect of the Academic Senate; School Deans; Dean of the Library; five instructional faculty - one selected by each of the five Schools; two staff members; two students selected by the Associated Students Board of Directors.

Term and Appointment: Indeterminate for members appointed by Provost/VPAA. Faculty are elected by Schools and serve three-year terms. Students are encouraged to serve a full academic year.

Meeting Schedule: Once a month and as needed.

Charge to Committee: 1. Advise the Provost/VPAA on budget matters pertaining to the educational programs and their support services.

2. Review instructional and academic support budgets.

3. Review lottery funds and recommend their allocations.

4. Develop long-range fiscal plans pertaining to instructional

and academic support programs.

5. Review expenditure of the past fiscal year's budget.
