Space Allocations Committee

Name of Committee: Space Allocations Committee
Reports to: Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Membership: School Deans; Vice President for Student Affairs; Dean of the Library; Dean of Extended Education; two faculty nominated by Senate Executive Committee. Non-voting: Director of Planning and Scheduling Coordinator.
Term and Appointment: Appointed each year in the Fall, by Provost/VPAA
Meeting Schedule: As needed, at discretion of Chair/Co-Chair
Charge to Committee:

To make recommendations to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs as to the most effective allocation and use of campus space and facilities. The committee shall be responsible for:

•  The inventory of space and evaluation of its utilization based on campus and system-wide standards.

•  The development, and evaluation of existing utilization, of a long range plan for space and facilities utilization including its effect on new project development and the Major Capital Outlay Program.

•  Receiving, analyzing, and acting upon requests for space.

•  Recommending adjustments to existing space allocations and utilization as may be thought necessary.
