Educational Effectiveness
Developing a Culture of Learning and Evidence
The Division of Academic Affairs, including academic schools and departments, and the Educational Planning Committee of the Academic Senate have invested considerable time in establishing assessment of student learning at the program level.Interim Program Review
As a first step (2000-2003) all departments and academic programs established the infrastructure for student learning--including student learning outcomes and assessment strategies--using a Interim Program Review process, adapted for this purpose.Education Effectiveness Process
Beginning in 2004 all departments and programs are engaged in educational effectiveness processes, building on their interim program reviews which were assessment oriented. All Departments and Programs are submitting annual reports about their educational effectiveness processes. See Annual Assessment Reports.Program Review Process
Between 2004-2005, SSU established a new policy for regular program reviews, and committed to reviewing all degree programs by Fall 2009.Accredited Programs are subject to a simplified process for reporting assessment and program reviews.
