Academic Calendar - The Academic
Calendar is prepared by the Office of Admissions and Records. The calendar,

Academic Department and School Meetings
- Faculty should obtain the meeting schedules from their Department
Chair and school offices.
Academic Senate Meetings - Academic
Senate meetings and a roster of committees and membership is available

Cabinet Meetings- Information regarding
Cabinet Meeting schedules is available through the Office of the President.
Faculty Orientation Meetings- The Center
for Teaching and Professional Development coordinates orientation meetings
for faculty.

The university maintains archives of important university-related material
and the CSU and SSU publish calendars of events, fact sheets, magazines,
newsletters, programs and special project reports. Some of the major publications
are described below and include links to their web sites.
Academic School Publications - Some
of the Academic Schools and academic departments have publications, such
as community and alumni newsletters, or sponsor student publications which
may include essays and poetry. Information regarding publications may

CSU Leader - The CSU Leader is the weekly e-news publication of the California State University. It is distributed each week via e-mail to members of the greater CSU family. The CSU Leader features timely and concise briefings on news related to the CSU. It covers breaking news from the campuses and system office, alerts about legislative action, and announcements of upcoming events or programs related to the CSU. Each issue of the CSU Leader also offers links and resources for more information. The Chancellor periodically sends on-line letters to all employees and students.

Experts Guide - This guide which is prepared
by the University Affairs Office lists faculty and staff specialists in
a wide range of fields who are available for speeches or for providing
information about particular areas of expertise.

Insights - The SSU news magazine is produced
twice each year, published by University Affairs. Insights has a circulation
of more than 45,000 and is mailed to SSU's alumni in all fifty states.
The piece is also mailed to currently-enrolled students, campus employees,
government officials, and friends of the University.
Newsbytes - The faculty and staff newsletter
of Sonoma State University is published online by University Affairs each
Monday through the academic year. The publication includes SSU's breaking
news, professional announcements and a calendar of events. An archive
of publications is also available at this site.

University Catalog - The Sonoma State University's

WASC Report - Sonoma State University is fully
accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. A number
of individual program accreditations have been granted, including those
by: the American Chemical Society, the National Association of Schools
of Music, the National League for Nursing, the National Association for
Schools of Art and Design, and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling
and Related Educational Programs. Programs in Sonoma State's School of
Education are approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is the organization
that provides accreditation for Sonoma State University. In preparation
for a campus visit by the WASC accreditation team the University will
engage in a Self-Study process.
The Institutional Research department also provides reports on retention,
graduation rates, enrollment statistics, degrees granted, and institutional
assessments.

SSU Web Page - The SSU
Homepage is maintained by the University Affairs Office. Academic School
and campus departments create and maintain their individual web pages.
In addition, many faculty have created their faculty web page in addition
to class web pages. The Information Technology Department provides training
and guidance to faculty interested in learning how to design web pages.
The Center for Teaching and Professional Development also provides support
and information to faculty interested in integrating the use of the web
in their courses.

Art From The Heart - This an annual fundraising
art auction, scheduled during the celebratory time of Valentines Day,
features donated works of art for auction by emerging and nationally recognized
artists from around the country and attracts visitors from all over Northern
California.

Athletic Events - Sonoma State University
is an NCAA Division II member institution. In addition to the full schedule
of athletic events that SSU students, coaches and faculty are involved
in, the program also participates in youth camps, recreational sports,
the walk for women's scholarship, and club sports. For more information

Blood Drives - Historically, SSU has sponsored
several Blood Drives on campus each year. These are typically coordinated
as a service to employees and students by the Student Health Center and
the Human Services Office.

Commencement - In addition to participation
in faculty governance, faculty are expected to participate in academic
ceremonies, including the annual Commencement. Cap, gown and hood rentals
for faculty participation may be arranged through the Bookstore. For satisfactory
reasons, the President may excuse a faculty member from this responsibility.

Convocations - Historically, two convocations
are scheduled at the start of each academic semester and provide an opportunity
for the campus community to hear reports from the President and Academic
leaders. The date, time and location are publicized in Newsbytes, through
the University Affairs Office and are usually posted on various web sites,
such as the Academic Senate site.

Green Music Festival - The goals of the
festival are simple but ambitious: to blend world-class performance with
educational opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, and
to become one of the major arts festivals in the United States.

Health Fair - The Health Fairs have historically
been coordinated by the Student Health Center and the Human Services Office.
The fairs may offer various health tests and provide information related
to health benefits for employees and services available in the community.
