Golden Gate Transit provides fixed-route intercity service between Santa Rosa and San Francisco on four separate routes.

Santa Rosa CityBus provided fixed-route bus service within the City of Santa Rosa on 15 separate routes. All buses are fully accessible to disabled persons and capable of carrying two wheelchairs at a time.

CityBus also contracts with Volunteer Wheels to provide curb-to-curb dial-a-ride services for elderly and disabled persons in the City.

Commuting

Highyway 101 is the only freeway for those commuting through Sonoma County, north to Oregon and south to San Francisco. There are plans to widen part of 101 to accommodate the fast population growth of Sonoma County. Meanwhile, if you are commuting be prepared to work around or contend with traffic congestion. Traffic updates may be found on KPIX channel 5, and KCBS (740 AM) radio updates every 10 minutes.
