Faculty Travel Awards Program:

The Faculty Subcommittee on Sponsored Programs (FSSP) announces the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for 2007/08 Faculty Travel Awards.

Proposals are due in the ORSP office (Stevenson 1050) by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

About Faculty Travel Awards

Funds for the FTA program come from three sources:  1) unallocated earnings of two university-wide permanently endowed funds for faculty development; 2) discretionary allocations by the Provost; and 3) Research, Scholarship or Creative Activity Program (RSCAP) funds not used for Mini-Grants or Summer Fellowships.

The Faculty Subcommittee on Sponsored Programs (FSSP) evaluates FTA proposals and makes funding recommendations to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

FTA funding may be requested for the following:
  • Travel to and participation in professional meetings in your field (your level of participation will be used as a criterion in assessing your application);
  • Travel to present a scholarly paper in your field;
  • Other travel that is integral to carrying out research, scholarship or creative activity in your field.
FTA funding may not be requested for the following:
  • Student travel.
