Web Accessibility
Access to the Internet and its resources, including websites, web applications, and digital content, is considered an area where the American with Disabilities Act applies. The ubiquity of the Internet in delivering information and providing services is an essential reason to make its accessibility a priority for Sonoma State University. Creating and maintaining accessible websites will be an ongoing institutional responsibility. The dynamic nature of the web and the continuous updating of content require a process that can be facilitated by the use of an enterprise-wide web evaluation and monitoring tool along with well-defined campus policy and implementation procedures.
SSU's ATI Web Accessibility Subcommittee has the following responsibilities:
- Develop and disseminate a campus-wide Web Accessibility Policy no later than March 30, 2007.
- Complete the First Year ATI Web Accessibility Project.
- Develop a Technology Access Transition Plan for approval by the campus ATI Committee.
- Particpate in planning and work necessary to reach the long-term milestones set in the CSU ATI project.
