Remediation Advising Information for Continuing Students
Remedial Course Requirement and Equivalencies
Sonoma State University policy requires that students who place in non-baccalaureate courses as a result of scores on the Entry-Level Math (ELM) and/or English Placement Test (EPT) enroll in the appropriate remedial courses in their first semester of enrollment at the universityAdditionally, CSU system-wide policy requires that all entering students needing remediation successfully complete all remedial courses within the period of their first year of enrollment.
As some students must enroll in a California Community College to complete the remediation requirement during this enrollment period, here is a list of courses that can be taken to complete these requirement(s). The course(s) must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher. A grade of "CR" is acceptable if the Community College grading system defines "CR" as "C" or higher.
