All graduate and postbaccalaureate applicants (e.g. master's degree applicants, those seeking credentials, those seeking second bachelor's degrees, and those interested in taking graduate level courses for personal or professional growth) must file a complete graduate/postbaccalaureate application.
Sonoma State University prefers electronic applications, available online at www.CSUMentor.edu. Alternatively, paper applications are available at California community colleges or CSU campuses.
Applicants who completed undergraduate degree requirements and graduated the preceding term are also required to complete and submit an application and the $55 nonrefundable application fee. To apply for admission at more than one campus, it is necessary to submit separate applications (including fees) to each.

Application Process
If you are applying to a graduate or credential program, you will have two separate application processes pending: one to the University and one to the specific graduate program. Be sure to contact the department to learn their deadlines and requirements, which are in addition to those of the University.
If you are applying for a second bachelor's degree, you will need to submit the undergraduate admissions application.
If you are applying for unclassified graduate status (i.e. taking classes as a postbaccalaureate student without being admitted to a specific program), you should submit the graduate application and indicate "undeclared" as your program objective. Please be sure to indicate your goals and intended classes in the "Statement of Purpose" section.
After you apply online, you will receive an email response to let you know the application was successfully submitted. Please KEEP THIS EMAIL, as it also contains important information about the processing of your application.
