Transfer Admission Requirements

UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER STUDENTS

Upper division transfer students qualify for admission if they have a grade point average of 2.00 (C) or better in all transferable units attempted, are in good standing at the last college or university attended, and meet the following standards.
  1. 60 transferable units or more by the time you intend to enroll at SSU, then you must have:
    1. Completed at least 30 units of general education course work* with a grade of 'C-' (or 'CR') or better in each course.
    2. Within those 30 units you must have completed:
      • Speech
      • English composition
      • Critical thinking
      • General education math
    3. Accumulative GPA of 2.0** (2.4 for california non-residents) in all transferable units completed.

  2. The applicant meets the special criteria for high demand majors .
*Consult your community college catalog under CSU General Education for a list of these courses.

**Some majors require a higher GPA for admission. Your academic counselor at your community college has the list of majors and grade point average requirements.
