Veterans Scholarships
The Fund For Veterans Education

To be eligible to receive financial aid, applicants must:
- Be veterans of any branch of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines), Coast Guard, National Guard and Armed Forces Reserves.
- Have served and been deployed for at least 60 days in Afghanistan or Iraq (or served in the surrounding area and have documented service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom) after September 11, 2001, or be veterans who were deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq after September 11, 2001, but did not meet the 60-day active service period as a result of a service-related injury or condition incurred while serving in Afghanistan or Iraq.
- Be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis in an undergraduate program of study at any accredited two-year or four-year institution, public or private, including technical schools for the Spring 2009 term.
- Have applied for and accepted all federal, state and institutional need-based grants and all available military educational benefits. The program is open to both US citizens and non-US citizens as long as all other eligibility requirements, including military service, are met.

The Military and Veterans Benefits Scholarship Program awards three $2,000 scholarships to 2L or 3L law school students. Qualifying applicants include any student accepted to an accredited law school program, full-time for the associated Fall semester. Students must also have served in a branch of the Armed Forces, or be concurrently involved with a branch of the Armed Forces. These may include: Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Reserve, Marines and ancillary departments and programs.
VFW Military Family Scholarship

The VFW's Military Family Scholarship program provides fifty $1,500 scholarships each year to VFW members (minimum 2 years) who are currently serving in uniform or have been discharged within the thirty-six (36) months prior to the December 31 deadline each year.
The scholarships will be awarded to servicemembers from each branch of service (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard) during the first quarter of the year following the deadline.
Note: Servicemembers may elect to use the scholarship for their spouse or child to attend school.

USB Tennessee (SSBN734) Scholarship Fund
http://www.nmcrs.org/spec-prgm.htmlThrough the USS TENNESSEE (SSBN 734) Scholarship Fund (TENNESSEE), the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides need based financial assistance in the form of a grant for the undergraduate college education of dependent children of active duty Navy personnel who are current or former members of the USS TENNESSEE. Children of retired former crewmembers of the TENNESSEE are also eligible.
Students who apply for the TENNESSEE Program may also apply for the Travers Loan Program.
AMVETS

This program is open to AAAA members and their spouses, unmarried siblings, unmarried children, and unmarried grandchildren. Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university. Graduate students must include a 250-word essay on their life experiences, work history, and aspirations. Some scholarships are specifically reserved for enlisted, warrant officer, company grade, and Department of the Army civilian members. Selection is based on academic merit and personal achievement. To apply applicants must request a Scholarship, Grant/Loan application. Students can email the Army Aviation Association at scholarship@quad-a.org for materials. Students must provide their full name, name of the AAAA member and complete mailing address to send the materials.

Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at least half time at an accredited college, university, or technical institution. Along with their application, they must submit high school or college transcripts; SAT, ACT, or other recognized test scores; a letter of recommendation from a VVA state council, chapter, or national; 2 letters of recommendation; a letter describing their current educational goals and objectives, individual accomplishments, and any other personal information that may assist in the selection process; and documentation of financial need. This program is open to former members of the Second Cavalry Regiment and the children of current or former members. Members of other Army units and their children may also be considered, especially if they have a previous connection with the Second Cavalry Regiment or other U.S. Cavalry Regiments. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay on 1 of the following topics: 1) how our military presence in Europe contributed to the end of the Cold War; 2) the role of the non-commissioned officer corps in the U.S. military; or 3) what America means to them. They must be attending or planning to attend a college or university. Selection is based on the essay and a statement of their educational goals, projected or current field of study, and personal or family affiliation with a cavalry unit.

Applications for the Marine Corps Sgt. Jeannette L. Winters Memorial Scholarship are requested from U.S. Marine Corps men and women who are currently on active duty, in the reserves or honorably discharged veterans. Eligible candidates must be currently attending fully accredited colleges or universities in the United States and enrolled as either part-time or full-time undergraduate students in an eligible Bachelor of Science degree program. Students who are sophomores, juniors or seniors who meet these requirements are eligible to apply.

All dependent children, age 24 and under (as of the 5/15/08 application deadline), and all spouses of active-duty U.S. military service personnel are eligible to apply for scholarships with ThanksUSA®.
ThanksUSA defines "Active-duty U.S. military personnel" as those who have served in active duty for at least 180 days since 9/11/01, including all those who have been killed or wounded in action. "U.S. military personnel" are defined as members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Members of the military reserves who have been activated to full-time duty and members of the National Guard who have been federalized and who otherwise meet the requirements are both eligible.
Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the military service member's household and/or primarily supported financially by the service member. Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, vocational school or technical school. They must also have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent on their relevant academic record (e.g., high-school record for incoming freshmen or post-secondary school record for those already enrolled in a college, university or vocational/technical school).
Awardees are required to comply with all academic and institutional rules, regulations and guidelines and to abide by all governing laws. Awardees who do not attend, who drop out or who are expelled will forfeit their grant. Further, awards will not be deferred for any reason. However, eligible applicants may apply in subsequent years if ThanksUSA is offering the same scholarship program at that point.
100th Infantry Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund

AFCEA General Emmett Paige Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, have good moral character, have demonstrated academic excellence, have a minimum 3.4 GPA, and be motivated to obtain a college education. Airmen Memorial Foundation (AMF) Scholarship Program
