Art from the Heart

Since it began in 1984, Art from the Heart has become one of Sonoma County's premiere fundraising events-an evening of fine art, food, and wine where artists and collectors join together in support of the University Art Gallery. Art from the Heart is a silent auction featuring original, modestly priced works of art in all media donated by professional artists from Sonoma County and throughout the United States. In addition, items such as stays at local inns and hotels, theatre and museum tickets, and unique bottles of wine and VIP tasting at local wineries are also included in the auction. Art from the Heart 2011

Saturday, February 12, 2011, marks the date for the 27th annual Art from the Heart silent art auction and party at the University Art Gallery, Sonoma State University, from 6 to 9 p.m. Proceeds from the auction directly benefit the Art Gallery's exhibition, publication, and lecture programs. There will be a free preview of the artwork on Wednesday the 9th, 11:00-8:00, Thursday the 10th from 11:00-4:00, and Friday the 11th from 11:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m.

As always, the Art from the Heart auction is an exciting evening of art, food and fine wine that has become one of the oldest continually-held fundraising events in the area and a “must” for novice and seasoned collectors alike. Last year more than 130 artists from Sonoma County and across the United States have created original works of art especially for Art from the Heart, including Sally Baker, Todd Barricklow, Janice Best, Ray Beldner, Mary Black, John Casey, Nuala Creed, Stephen Galloway, Cynthia Hipkiss, Mildred Howard, Bob Hudson, Karen Kelly, Kurt Kemp, Tony King, Maurice Lapp, Hung Liu, Ron Nagle, Jann Nunn, William O’Keeffe, Mark Perlman, Sylvia Seventy, Richard Shaw, Jennifer Sturgill, Greer Upton, Shane Weare, and Bill Wheeler, among many others.

Delicious food and wine will be served, and tickets are $30 suggested donation.
