One Dollar Movies at the Rialto! The Visitor

Associated Students Productions and the Rialto Cinema are proud to present a showing of The Visitor. The movie will be showing on Wednesday, May 14th, at 7:00pm at the Rialto Cinema in Santa Rosa. Tickets are on sale for One Dollar at the Student Union front desk.

This month, tickets are on sale for students with a valid SSU ID at the Student Union front desk to see The Visitor, starring Six Feet Under's Richard Jenkins and Haaz Sleiman of 24.

Richard Jenkins stars as sixty-two year-old Walter Vale, disillusioned economics professor, sleepwalking through life. Having lost his passion for teaching and writing, Walter fills the void in his life by unsuccessfully trying to learn classical piano. When the university sends him back to Manhattan to attend a conference, Walter is surprised to find a young couple has taken up residence in his apartment. Tarek (Haaz Sleiman) and his girlfriend, Zaineb are the victims of a real-estate scam and have nowhere to go. Through a series of heart-testing decisions, Walter allows the couple to stay with him as Tarek helps him to rediscover himself through teaching him the African Drum and showing him that life can be more than just a routine. When Tarek is arrested as an undocumented citizen, Walter finds a passion he had long lost, to help his new friend and re-awaken to a new world and a new life.
