The growing sensation "The White Tie Affair", along with openings by Every Avenue and Stereo Skyline, comes to Sonoma State University, Saturday November 14th at 8pm in the Commons.

With an 80's influenced electronic/punk rock style that also features a heavy dance-oriented sound that has drawn comparisons to contemporary artists such as, Fall Out Boy and Justin Timberlake as well as the iconic Duran Duran and Loverboy, The White Tie Affair have been making a name for themselves ever since their debut CD released in 2007.

Coming fresh off this year's Warped Tour, the Chicago based group started piecing together sounds-everything from Stevie Wonder to AFI to The Police and came up with an original, catchy mix. Some of their most well known songs include "Allow Me to Introduce Myself", "Mr. Right", "Candle (Sick and Tired)" and "Take it Home." The White Tie Affair was featured in the hit MTV show the Hills, performing in Hollywood with Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge and has been featured on many other television shows as well as being heard on main stream radios throughout the country on a regular basis.

It only took a couple of months before Slightly Dangerous/ Epic Records took notice and the band signed a deal in 2007. Since then, the group has toured extensively across the country, playing between 200 and 250 shows a year garnering press and die-hard fans alike. The White Tie Affair has gathered a huge fan base in a short period of time and only continues to grow.

Every Avenue hit the charts in February 2008 with their first full-length pop-punk album Shh. Just Go With It, and found themselves at #27 on the U.S. Billboard Heatseekers chart. They have toured with top bands such as Mayday Parade, Farewell, and All Time Low and also appeared on the Vans Warped Tour in 2008. Their most recent accomplishment were having their hit song "One More Song" featured on both MTV's The Real World: Hollywood, and The Island.

Stereo Skyline is a three piece power-pop band based out of Long Island, NY. The band consists of Kevin Bard (lead vocals/ guitar), Brian Maddox ( bass), and Rob Michelsen (drums). Through catchy melodies and heartthrob lyrics, the band has found themselves growing nationally into teen hearts as well as onto their myspace pages. The band has released numerous songs in the past but it wasn't until the summer release of their 2008 self titled EP that people starting really noticing the boys and their music. The EP consists of four songs including the bands single "Heartbeat."

Tickets are only $ 5 for Sonoma State students and $10 general and are available at the Sonoma Student Union, The Last Record Store in Santa Rosa and at brownpapertickets.com.
