In order to best meet the needs of SSU students, Student Advisory and Interest Councils have been established to solicit the perspective and feedback of current SSU students.
Involvement with a Student Advisory & Interest Councils allows students to participate in student governance and inform elected student officers about their academic school or areas of interest within student life.
Each Council is chaired by one of the 12 Senators representing the academic schools and special interest areas.
Student Advisory Councils exist to serve the Schools of: Arts & Humanities, Business & Economics, Science & Technology and Social Sciences. Each Student Advisory Council is chaired by the School Senator for the respective School. Student Advisory Councils will meet to discuss issues within the school, such as course availability, advising, registration and the academic experience.
Student Interest Councils exist to serve the needs of all SSU students by seeking student and involvement and perspective on the following issues/areas: Community Affairs, Diversity, Statewide Issues, Student Services and Sustainability.
