My name is Gian D'Ambra and I am a COMS major here at SSU. I am from Rhode Island but am now a California resident since moving to the Central Valley/ East Bay area about two years ago. Next year will be my third year at Sonoma State after transferring from a school in New York. I currently work in athletics and athletic development. I took the radio track in the COMS major and am also part of KSUN. I am planning on using my experience as an AS leader and my degree from SSU to pursue a career in sports broadcasting and journalism. If elected as President I will use my previous experience as a leader in athletics to meet the needs of the student body here at SSU. Knowing everyone has a different outlook as they enter college, I will cater to all the different opinions and aspirations our students have. Your vote is your voice so I will do my best to make sure everyone's experience at SSU is exactly what they dreamed it would be, and more!.

First off I want to say that I have been passionate about student representation since I stepped on this campus for the very first time. I was elected as the Zinfandel Village Council President my freshman year and the Residential Student Association President my Sophomore year. At the same time I was a member of our NCAA Tennis Team. During my involvement in Residential governance I learned a lot about what SSU students were really concerned with and it was incredibly rewarding to be a part of the process in satisfying those needs. Currently I serve as the Statewide Issues Senator for the Associated Students. I have been involved with the Associated Students throughout my SSU career as a member of Student Center Street Team, committee member, and regular AS meeting attendee. My current AS involvement has allowed me to make many connections across various campus departments, which paired with my knowledge of the University makes me uniquely able to efficiently and effectively enact positive change here at SSU. As a regular attendee of the California State Student Association I am deeply aware of the issues affecting the CSU system. The connections I have created within every CSU campus has been very helpful in the process of implementing new and exciting programs here on this campus. Lastly, I don’t want to forget my involvement in Summer Orientation as a Team Leader, which gave me even more experience in vision planning, team processes, and leading a group toward a common goal.

My name is Mac Hart. I’m a third year student, and I’m asking for your support in becoming the next President of Associated Students. I am running for this position because I believe that I offer the right set of skills and proven experience needed to significantly improve all aspects of our experience at Sonoma State University. During my past three years at Sonoma State I have worked to create vibrant community among a spectrum of groups on campus. Through my experience I have learned that we are all important to the campus community. That collectively, through our combined skills, passions, and interests, we can create groups and events that successfully bring the campus together. I believe that with the Student Center opening next year we will have all the resources we need to make Sonoma State a thriving, vibrant, and engaging university. I’m coordinating my campaign with Anthony Gallino for Vice-President because he is the most hardworking and experienced student representative on campus. He and I have been working together on student life issues since our freshmen year. But we are merely a catalyst for this change .This is our moment to take Sonoma State to the next level and I hope you elect myself and Anthony to lead the way as President and Vice-President of AS. This campus can be better; to do so requires all to play an integral role in the process. This is the future we see for Sonoma State. Let’s make Sonoma awesome.

Now more than ever we need an Executive Vice President who will build unity and coalitions between students, faculty, and University Administration in an open and transparent manner. As President Clinton said, “We all do better when we work together. Our differences do matter, but our common humanity matters more.” Since my freshmen year I have been involved and proactive on campus participating in the AS freshmen leadership program, the march for higher education in Sacramento, trained on lobbying and statewide issues at the California higher education student summit and lobbied multiple legislators at the capitol last year. This year I have had the honor as serving on your Associated Students Government and as a Senator I have seen where we can improve as an organization. Through my experience I believe I can use my skills to ensure that the promise of an affordable, accessible and quality education remains. It is time that issues such as class availability, money allocation to the students, food policy revisions, and all types of student services is demanded of our administration. We need leaders who have the leadership qualities in order to stand up to staff, faculty, and administration to provide the students with what they need.If given the honor of being elected as your Executive Vice President I will ensure that our unified voice remains’ focused on the issues important to you and I will seek your guidance. I humbly ask for your support.

I am a second year student double majoring in Theatre and Women and Gender Studies. I have dreams of becoming a professor at a university and playwright. I was raised by a single mother at the Fred Warring Farm labor Camp and from my mother I have learned the meaning of hard work ethic, humility and the value of a college education. I have been raised to believe that a person can influence their community no matter their economic, social or legal status they are. My background and experiences have shaped the person I am today and through my experiences, I learned the importance of giving back to the community. Therefore, creating a campus community has been a goal that I have aimed for through my campus involvement including: my positions as : a Zumba instructor at the SSU Recreation Center, Summer Orientation leader, peer mentor for Chicano studies, diversity senator for the Associated Students, actress and assistant director for the Vagina Monologues. I believe in the power of education and the great change that can come from empowering the campus community.

My name is Anthony Gallino and I’m a third year Political Science student. For the past year I have been working hard as the current Executive Vice-President and Chief Academic Officer of the Associated Students, and I must ask for your continued support in my re-election. I have been involved with our academic success since I was a freshman. I have worked on issues regarding stopping new fees, halting unit caps, and demanding better advising. I believe our current needs are continued support in adding classes and resources. We have lived with a campus where it is a struggle to get the classes we need, receive helpful advising academically and in potential careers, and finally where it seems we the students are last in the minds of our administrators, while money is first. With the new Student Center coming online, and the Green Music Center well underway, now more than ever is the need for student representation and advocacy. Academics and resources aside, the community and student cohesion are at an all-time low. This is a chief concern to me, and that is why I am running a coordinated campaign with Mac Hart for President. I believe that Mac has the experience and capability more than anyone else at this school to combat apathy and create unity on campus. Together, Mac Hart and I will guide the AS, and all of its programs and resources, to make SSU reach its full potential, both in and out of the classroom.

Hi I'm Liam Eriksson and I am running for Vice President of Finance. I'm a 20 year old junior, a business management major, and I have been involved in Student Government since I was in 5th grade. Student government at SSU has been vastly overlooked and I'm looking to change that. "Hey Liam, how can you help me individually?" Well, I won't be able to give you all free beers at the pub or slices of Amicis, but I can promise that your hard-earned tuition money won't go to waste; it'll go where you want it to. I am extremely qualified for this position because I have been on the executive board of my fraternity for 3 years, was able to more than double our entire budget as treasurer, am very efficient yet effective with my personal expenses, keep an open mind while being very personable, and will add a new dynamic to Associated Students. If you want to watch a funny yet informative video about my campaign, go to www.youtube.com/truevalueproductions and watch the Vote Liam video. #VoteLIAM #DoItForTheLiams

My name is Matt Dougherty. I grew up in Pacifica, California. I have been involved with leadership since grammar school where I held the position of Treasurer. In high school, I was nominated as delegate to HOBY (a nationally recognized organization that builds leadership skills for sophomores in high school). I also served on the Executive Student Council and was selected to represent the student body during the school’s WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation process. I traveled to Washington D.C. and studied our nation’s government and economy with my senior class, the same year that I attained the rank of Eagle Scout. At Sonoma State, I served as ASI Business and Economics School Senator and delegate to numerous University Committees. My primary concern is for classes to remain available, especially for graduating students so they are not forced to remain at SSU for an extra semester to get their degree. College fees and tuition costs must remain reasonable and within reach of the Sonoma State Student, and we must assure ourselves as students that the deficiency in state funding does not affect a student’s ability to graduate on time. As a double major in Financial Management and Communication Studies here at Sonoma State, I hope to utilize my financial skills and education to manage the budget of our ASI and make sure we receive the most for our money. On April 12th, Bring Matt Back to office. Vote Matt Dougherty for ASI VP of Finance! Go Seawolves!

marley

My name is Antony Dugandzic and I am running for ASI’s Vice-President of Finance position at Sonoma State. I am currently a 4th year student pursuing a BS in Business Administration with a double concentration in both Finance and Accounting and I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with the Associated Students this upcoming school year. My education, a combination of finance, accounting, and economics courses, combined with my professional and leadership experience make me an ideal candidate for this role in SSU’s Student Government. Highlights from my work and leadership experience include: President of the Finance Club at Sonoma State (2012-2013) Student Ambassador, SSU’s School of Business & Economics (2012-2013) Chief Financial Officer of Tau Kappa Epsilon (2012) Walt Disney Studios’ Accounting Clerk (Post-Production) for “Oz: The Great and Powerful” (2012) Since joining the SSU community in 2009, I have been motivated to get as involved as possible. I have been an active member within my fraternity as well as SSU’s School of Business, and NOW my hope is to pursue a position within our Student Government. ASI acts as the official voice of our student body and I want to use my voice to better our community and ensure we are being served exceptionally. By being elected into this position I know that I will be able to implement changes to better our college experience and create opportunities to get involved. There are many issues that need to be addressed and I want to be a part of the team that resolves these issues. I want to be elected YOUR Vice-President of Finance! And remember: Stay Classy, Sonoma State!

Hello, My name is Tyler J. Davis. I am a self-driven, enthusiastic entrepreneur who is running for Business and Economics senator for this coming school year. I am a deeply wired business man and am excited to get a chance to contribute my skills to Associated Students Inc. I am currently working towards earning my Business degree in Financial Management, with a minor in Economics. I have a grounded personality and know that I can level-headedly work with others and help benefit our school by becoming a part of Associated Students. I have continued to perfect my GPA every semester since I arrived—starting with a 3.0 and raising it to a 3.6 this past semester. I enjoy getting involved with many different organizations on campus and as a full-time student, an active member of the Finance Club, and recently elected as treasurer for Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity; I have successfully learned how to balance it all. The reality is that I AM human. I will make mistakes, but I can promise you that I will give it 110% and learn from not only my mistakes but I will learn from my predecessor as well. Quite frankly, I believe Michael Booz did a great job as the Business and Economic Senator this past year. Do I think I will do better? With his guidance and your trust I promise, I will do a great job! Thank you.

Hi, my name is Annie Green and I am thrilled to be running for AS senator of Arts and Humanities. I am currently majoring in English literature and will be a sophomore in the fall. I enjoy reading, writing, crafting, ceramics, designing nail art, scrolling the Internet, painting, and simply being a part of the Sonoma State community. As a senator of AS I hope to not only reach out to those within the school of Arts and Humanities, but also anyone who wishes to make changes or see new programs that will better the department. I am looking to really be seen as a representative that students can come to with issues or additions to the school that they would like to see made and I am full of ideas of my own. I believe I will make an excellent addition to the AS Senate and am really looking forward to becoming a part of the organization.

Growing up in Santa Barbra, California, I was always curious about Northern California. I chose to attend Sonoma State because of the location and distance. I would love to be a part of AS, the student government, and the senate to enrich the experience of students at SSU and help better the campus. I would love to be a voice for the students at Sonoma State University.

My name is Kayla Galloway and I am running for Involvement Senator! I chose to run for Involvement Senator because I believe being involved on campus is important and can really enhance your experience as a student at Sonoma State! I have been involved in different extracurricular activities all throughout high school as well as during my freshman year here at Sonoma State. Being elected as Involvement Senator would help me develop leadership skills and gain knowledge regarding all the different student organizations on campus. As Involvement Senator, I would try to reach out to all different types of students at SSU and encourage everyone to be involved with some type of student organization. As for me, I am currently freshman at SSU and I am from Vacaville, CA (East Bay). My major is Communications and I love all things MEDIA! I love to keep up with everything within the media, including social media, breaking news, celebrity/Hollywood news and all current events! Other things about me are that I am a HUGE San Francisco Giants fan, my favorite players are Buster Posey and Sergio Romo, I LOVE music and my favorite artist is Taylor Swift. Being elected to Associated Students would help me be further involved within Sonoma State and it would also give me an opportunity to make other students’ college experiences the best they can be!!

My name is Angie Durkee and I am running for Associated Students Involvement Senator. I am friendly, energetic, imaginative, approachable, motivated and can’t wait to implement change on this campus. Growing up in a culturally diverse environment, having a Latina background, and being fluent in Spanish, has helped me interact positively in a multiethnic atmosphere. Community involvement has always been important to me, as I have developed a better understanding of individuals from different walks of life. When I was 12, I traveled to my mother’s homeland in Central America: El Salvador. This is a third world country and I was exposed to a completely different culture. Seeing so many people suffer but yet they were still so happy really inspired me. I learned to be positive, appreciate the smaller things in life, and contribute more to the community.I am currently a volunteer for six different organizations through the JUMP Community Service Program, I hold an appointed position of Club Congress Chair Woman in my sorority, and I am an avid attendee and supporter of on-campus events. I am passionate about improving campus life and the quality of your college experience. I plan on doing so by committing lots of time to creating a more involved, school-spirited setting. I love working with people and will always be open to listening to your ideas. I believe that my willingness to serve SSU’s community, my acquired knowledge, experience, skills, involvement, and dedication to the student body make me a qualified candidate.

marley

Hello, my name is Sierra Huntsinger. I am a first year student here at Sonoma. I am running for Involvement Senator. At Sonoma I have been involved in the Rowing team and the newest sorority in campus Alpha Omicron Pi. I am always trying to make the best of my college experience and I find that a great way to do that is to get involved on campus. I think that the events that are offered to us on campus offer great learning experiences and some of a lot of them can be fun! I loved being involved on campus and I find that this is just one more step to being even more involved then I already am. Thank you!

marley

My name is Luke Tesluk and I am running for Student Services Senator.I am a junior at SSU studying Political Science. I am running for Student Services Senator because the types of services and their availability is critical to any student succeeding on campus and I want to help make these services as accessible and beneficial as possible. Student services encompass everything from academic advising to career services and everything in between. However, I feel there are barriers that are keeping students from fully benefiting from these services on campus. As Senator, I will work to break down barriers and improve services so students can have a better college experience and are prepared for life after college. I have been involved on campus as an RSA rep and local village councilmember, a member of Students for Quality Education, a volunteer on some Associated Students (ASI) committees, and interned in Sacramento as a legislative associate for a student’s rights advocacy group. I am a regular attendee at the ASI meetings this semester, so I am familiar with how our student government works, how resolutions are put into effect and most importantly, how those resolutions impact student's lives. If elected, I would like to have more student forums to give opportunities for students to offer feedback and perspectives on campus life - input that is critical for ASI to stay informed as to the needs of the student body. Please vote Luke Tesluk for Student Services Senator.Thank you.

marley

My name is Finn Maloney and I am running for student services senator this year. I am a freshman at Sonoma State and believe I have a fresh outlook on some problems and difficulties within the school that others might not be able to see. I have always had a love of helping others and an appreciation for ease and comfort that will be reflected on the student body if I am elected to office. I have also been interested in leadership and student involvement on campus since I chose Sonoma State. I have always tried to do things as easily and efficiently as possible, and would make everyone's experience at Sonoma the most comfortable and accepting possible if given the opportunity.
