REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR FALL 2009

The Department of Biology encountered a software problem in placing advising holds for Fall 2009. At this time, there should be no advising holds on any students. However, all Biology majors, especially second semester freshmen, are STRONGLY encouraged to meet with their advisors before your registration appointments. If you are not sure who is your advisor, or if you need an advisor assigned to you, stop by the Biology Department office in Darwin 200. If you do find that you have a Biology advising hold on your account, please contact Lakin (664-2189 or lakin.khan@sonoma.edu) or Kathleen (664-2535 or kathleen.hardy@sonoma.edu) or stop by the Biology Department office and we will remove it for you right away.

If you wish to repeat Biology 220, Human Anatomy, please click here for the policy. For the Sonoma State policy on repeating a course, please click here. The Fall 2009 schedule of classes is here.

If you are trying to register for a Biology class, and you receive the message "Instructor Consent Required" you should contact the instructor of that class for more information. If you receive the message "Department Consent Required" this means that the class is full and the department office is keeping a Wait List. Sometimes it appears that there are open seats in the class, but if you received the "Department Consent Required" message, then those seats are not available. If you would like to be added to a Wait List, please complete the form here. You can e-mail the form directly to the Biology office, or you can print it and bring it into the office in Darwin 200. There are also paper copies of the form available in the office. You must complete the form in order to be placed on the Wait List.

Transfer students! If you completed the prerequisites for a course at a school other than Sonoma State, you may encounter difficulties enrolling. Prior to registration, you can meet with the chair of the Biology Department to certify that you have completed the correct pre-requisites, and the certification can be placed in your file for verification. If you are unable to enroll in a course because PeopleSoft does not recognize that you have completed the prerequisites, please call the Biology office at (707) 664-2189 or stop by Darwin 200 DURING YOUR REGISTRATION APPOINTMENT for help.
