I am the Director of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program at the Volunteer Center.

We, in conjunction with the Environmental Alliance for Senior Involvement, (EASI) are

collaborating w/ the EPA and CA Rural Water Association on a pilot project for the state

of CA. Because of the diverse water systems in Sonoma County, we are starting an

intergenerational water education project. The volunteer work is planned to consist of

elders and youth working together to educate that public about our water sources in

Sonoma County. Of course there is more detailed information available, however we are

in the planning stages right now. The project is slated to begin in January 2001, but we

are recruiting now. If you are interested, or have students that are interested, please

contact me. We are planning to work with the Youth Volunteer Corps here at the

Volunteer Center, but would like to open up the stream of potential volunteers.
