Chartering a Student Organization - Spring 2008

 

Fall 2008 Charter Meeting

The Fall 2008 charter meeting extravaganza is mandatory for any club or organization that wishes to be chartered for the Fall 2008 semester. ALL club presidents and treasureres must attend. Be sure to have your officers elected by April 26th so that they can attend the meeting, which will take place Saturday, May 3rd in the Cooperage from 9am-Noon.

All required paperwork will be given to you at the meeting as well as a reminder about updating information on ICS.

Charter materials are due to the CSLIS office no later than Friday, May 16 by 4pm. Materials include: Acknowledgement of Responsibility form, sonoma student union corporation form and ASI Trust account form. Any updates/changes to ICS must also be completed online by this time.

No late paperwork will be accepted. Student organizations who wish to have official University recognition must complete all charter requirements by the deadline.

NEW charter process for the 2008-2009 academic year:

  • Officers for the 2008-2009 must be elected by April 26th and presidents and treasurers must attend the mandatory charter meeting.
  • The deadline to charter for the 2008-2009 academic year is May 16, 2008.
    • Student organizations who meet this deadline will be able to participate in summer and early fall welcome activities. They will also have access to their ASI bank accounts and have the ability to reserve space on campus for the 2008-2009 academic year.
  • Student organizations who do not elect officers by this date and who do not charter by the May 16th deadline must wait until the fall 2008 charter process.

More information regarding the new charter process will be disseminated next semester. In the meantime, please mark the dates on your calendars.
