Academic Expectations
Club Handbook

While involvement in student organizations is an important component for classroom learning, participation should complement academic progress. For this reason, only students in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average) are eligible to serve as president or treasurer. The student organization as a whole should have a group average of at least 2.0. Furthermore, presidents and treasurers should be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units (undergraduate students) or 3 units (graduate students) during each term of office. Also, presidents and treasurers may not have earned 150 units or 125% of units needed towards graduation, whichever is higher.

There are a number of services available to assist student organization leaders in the area of academics. These include:

Learning Skills Services

Tutorial Program

Writing Center

Study Groups
Encourage student organization members to create their own study groups.

Each student organization advisor is asked to monitor the academic progress of student members and notify the Center for Student Leadership, Involvement and Service of there are any concerns.
