Time Management
Club Handbook

As a leader, you probably have many identities in your life, including club officer, employee, sports team member, friend, and of course, student. How do you fit it all in?!

Here are some tips:

  • Make up and follow a detailed daily schedule, including your classes, study time, plus the things you want to accomplish for your club.
  • Get up earlier.
  • If you ride to school or work, use the time to study or plan.
  • Make creative and constructive use of lunch time and breaks.
  • Delegate authority and tasks whenever possible.
  • Ask for help with work you feel you cannot do effectively.
  • Work hardest when you're mentally most alert.
  • Set goals for what you want to accomplish, both in the short- and long-term.
  • Learn how to make decisions quickly and clearly.
  • Write notes to yourself so you don't forget what you need to do.
  • Be prompt for all appointments.
  • Focus only on the immediate task you're doing.
  • Avoid interruptions.
  • Learn to say "no" in order to protect your time and priorities.
  • Don't try to be perfect (strive to do your best, not for perfection).
  • Respect your limitations.
  • Work to your top capacity and then relax and have fun. You deserve it!
