ALL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RENEW THEIR CHARTER ANNUALLY
To maintain recognition as a Chartered Organization, ALL student organizations must fulfill the following requirements:
President and Treasurer must be currently matriculated students, enrolled in a minimum of 6 units (undergraduate) or 3 units (graduate) and maintain a minimim semester and cumulative GPA of 2.0 for each term of office. Presidents and treasurers may have earned no more that 150 cumulative units or 125% of units needed towards graduation (whichever is higher).
Each organization must have a minimum of five members who are currently matriculated students. (Matriculated students must constitute a minimum of 80% of total membership.)
Student organizations are required to have a current constitution on file in the CSLIS
Each organization is required to have an advisor (University employed faculty or staff)
Each organization is required to have an account with ASI and maintain a minimum balance at all times
Sports Clubs are required to abide by all Chartering Requirements stated for Sports Clubs
Greek Organizations are required to abide by all Chartering Requirements stated for Greek Organizations
When CSLIS has determined that each organization has fulfilled the above requirements:
- The organization will be issued their mailbox in the CSLIS. Sport Club mailboxes will be located in the Sport Club Program office. Organizations are required to use their mailboxes as their "official" club.
- Organizations will be listed in the web-based Directory
- Organizations will be approved to use their account with ASI, charge services in the Student Union, and reserve space on campus through the Office of Conferences, Events and Catering
All SSU chartered organizations and their individual members are required to:
Adhere to all CSU, local, state and federal laws
Adhere to all university policies and procedures pertaining to student organizations
Provide accurate and truthful information
Attend all meetings required by the CSLIS
Provide the CSLIS with any changes in officers, contact information, meeting times, etc. within two weeks of any changes. An UPDATE FORM is available in CSLIS, however, when signature authorization changes all official forms must be completed with original signatures. In addition, all updates need to be made to the online system.
Failure to uphold stated requirements may result in the suspension of your charter as a student organization. The Center for Student Leadership, Involvement & Service maintains the authority to revoke a clubs chartered status.
