The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), founded in 1902, is an umbrella organization for 26 inter/national women's fraternities and sororities. Sonoma State University Panhellenic Council is the local governing body of these 26 groups, and is composed of one or more chapter representatives from each NPC sorority on this campus (Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, and Gamma Phi Beta). In addition, Kappa Delta Zeta (a local SSU sorority) has joined the Panhellenic Council as an affiliate member.
The object of the Panhellenic Council at Sonoma State University shall be to develop and maintain fraternity/sorority life and interfraternity/intersorority relations at a high level of accomplishment and in so doing to:

Consider the goals and ideals of member chapters as continually applicable to campus and personal life.

Promote superior scholarship as basic to intellectual achievement.

Cooperate with member fraternities/sororities and the SSU administration in concern for and maintenance of high social and moral standards.

Act in accordance with National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Unanimous Agreements and policies.

Act in accordance with such rules established by Panhellenic Council as to not violate the sovereignty, rights and privileges of member fraternities/sororities.

Panhellenic Recruitment for all Sonoma State Panhellenic members (excluding Kappa Delta Zeta) begins each year through your attendance at one of three Panhellenic Recruitment Informational Nights. At each "Info Night", you will learn about Greek Life and about the different women's fraternity/sorority chapters at SSU. Fall 2008 Info Nights will take place:
