7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. | Opening Night Kickoff Party
Join us in celebrating the beginning of a new semester with a party at the wall! There will be crate stacking and staff available to belay, so come on by and check it out!

 

Spring 2015 Climbing Wall Events
January 21st

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. | Movement Basics Clinic
Just getting into climbing and want to learn how to move more efficiently in vertical terrain? This clinic is for you! We will cover the essential hand and foot movement and body positioning to give your climbing a solid foundation. These techniques are applicable to both top rope and bouldering. 

January 28th

2:00 p.m. | Mile High Challenge Begins
Sure you can run a mile but have you ever tried to climb it? Find a friend and push your limits by trying to top-rope all 5,280 vertical feet in one week. Think you can break our record?

January 29th

8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Routesetters Training
Are you a solid v2/5.8 climber who dreams of being able to create your own routes? We'll teach you the nuts and bolts (hehe) of route setting. No prior setting experience needed. 

February 4th

10:00 p.m. | Mile High Challenge Ends
Last day to count your climbs towards the Mile High Challenge! Record your climbs by 10pm for them to count towards the challenge! Teams who complete the challenge will receive an awesome sticker, a high five from staff and awe-struck onlookers as well as a huge sense of accomplishment!

February 11th

7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. | Boulder Babes
Boulder Babes is a community of female climbers that supports and empowers climbers of all skill levels to reach their goals of skill, strength and fun! So weather you're a seasoned climber or are just beginning, join us for our first meeting and see what it's all about!

February 12th

8:00 p.m. | Climbing Wall Closes Early for CCS Competition Prep
The Climbing Wall will close at 8pm and will be concealed by a large mysterious tarp so that we can begin preparations for the CCS Climbing Competition on the 21st!

February 13th to 20th

CW Closed for Competition Setting
The big mysterious tarp will stay in place all week while we finish cleaning, setting and prepping for the comp. Don't try to peak, the flying monkeys know how to find you…Get stoked for all fresh boulder problems when we’re done!

February 21st

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. | CCS Bouldering Competition | $10.00
Competition season has arrived! The CCS Bouldering Competition is open to all climbers of all skill levels, who may register into one of three categories(men's and women's); beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers of each category and there will also be a raffle with some great giveaways from our sponsors!  Registration opens at 9:00am and climbing begins at 10:00am.  Off campus visitors check here for info on directions, parking and food.  All competitors must fill out the Campus Recreation and Climbing Wall Waiver.  For full listing of CCS Comps visit the USAClimbing.net.

March 4th

Are you ready to take your climbing to the next level? Lead climbing is an advanced and exciting way to push yourself mentally and physically. Come learn how to efficiently clip, take falls and lead belay. Must be currently belay certified and confidently climbing 5.8 on top-rope. 

March 11th

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. | Exploring Adaptive Climbing: Techniques and Systems
Ever wanted to get to the top of the wall but don’t think you have what it takes?  Think again!  We want to empower climbers of ALL ABILITIES!  We’ve recently acquired some adaptive climbing equipment and we want to put it to good use!  Join us for an evening of exploration and inquiry as we try different setups and solutions to empower the climbers with various levels of mobility.  All are welcome! 

April 8th

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. | Intermediate Movement Clinic
So you've been climbing for a while now and you know how to edge, match and flag, but you're ready to step up your game. Come learn some more advanced techniques and movements that will help you bring down your next project. 

April 15th
