Turkey Trot Information
If you like to run, walk, be outside, or try new things the first annual Sonoma State Triathlon Team/Intramurals Turkey Trot is the event for you! The event will take place on the SSU campus following a flat and easy 5k (3.1 mile) course. (Click the link above to check out the course map.) There will be plenty of volunteers and chalking to make sure you stay on course but knowing what to expect ahead of time can never hurt. The race costs $5 and all proceeds go to the SSU Triathlon Team to support their efforts in racing throughout California. Come support the team, get some exercise, and have fun!

Turkey Trot Frequently Asked Questions
Q:How do I sign up for the Turkey Trot?
A: Download or pick up an entry form and return it to the front desk of the Recreation Center with $5. Entry forms are due by Wednesday November 19th at 5pm. Don’t forget to tell your friends!!
Q: Where do I go on race day?
A: The race starts and ends at the intramural fields (next to the tennis courts and across from the baseball field). Make sure to arrive by 11:30am to pick up your race number and to hear important race day announcements.
Q: What does "guessed finish time" mean?
A: This is the amount of time (in minutes and seconds) you think it will take you to complete the race. The participant who guesses closest to their actual finish time will win a prize.
Q: Do I have to be a runner to participate?
A: No!! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come. You can win the guessed finish time prize whether you walk, jog, or run the course. Turkey trots are fun for all!
Q: Why should I participate?
A: The turkey trot is a fun event that is open to all levels. Prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female but also to the participant who finishes closest to their guessed time, so anyone can win! The race is really inexpensive, there will be free giveaways and prizes, and turkey trots are a healthy and fun holiday tradition!
