Summer Housing License Agreements may be submitted there. Please read through the information provided here carefully. If you have any further questions, you may call or email Andrew Heller at 707-664-2542 andrew.heller@sonoma.edu. The deadline for submitting a Summer Housing License Agreement is May 14th at 12 pm.
Getting Started Are you eligible for Summer Housing? Students who are enrolled in academic courses at Sonoma State University in either Summer 2008 or Fall 2008 are eligible for Summer Housing. Students that are graduating in May 2008 are not eligible. Students not officially enrolled at Sonoma State University are not eligible. What are the Summer Housing dates? Summer Housing runs from June 1st to July 27th. However, Spring 2008 residents may begin May 24th and Fall 2008 residents may end on August 23rd. What are the term dates of the license agreement? Eligible Summer Students may sign a license agreement with any of the following arrival and departure dates. For example, a current Spring 2008 resident may sign up for May 24th to July 27th, or Fall 2008 residents may sign an agreement for June 29th to August 23rd.
What if you need to stay until July 15th, but not until July 27th? The Conferences Office did the best we could to make these dates compatible with the Summer School schedule. The dates are not negotiable. You may sign an agreement through July 27th and vacate your room on July 15th, but no refunds will be issued.
What if I need to extend my Summer Housing License Agreement? Summer Housing License Agreements may not be extended. If necessary, a second License Agreement may be submitted no later than 3 days prior to the first License Agreement ending. The second License Agreement shall begin on the end date of the first license agreement and must have a departure date listed in the table above. A $50 processing fee will be charged upon approval of a second License Agreement. The acceptance of a second license agreement is subject to availability and a new room will most likely be assigned. What is the deadline for canceling a Summer License Agreement? Summer License Agreements may be cancelled anytime prior to May 14th, 2008 at 12 PM. A full refund will be issued within 3 weeks of cancellation. No refunds will be issued for License Agreements cancelled after May 14th, 2008.
Summer Housing Rates Summer Housing will be provided in the Bordeaux building of the Beaujolais Village. The price per night for a single room is $25. How do you pay for Summer Housing? By submitting a signed Summer Housing License Agreement, you agree to have the Total Amount Due posted to your student account. Charges will be posted to your account once eligibility and availability have been verified. At that time, payments may be submitted to Customer Services on the 1st Floor of Salazar. When is your Summer Room Assignment Confirmed? Summer Room Assignments are confirmed when the Conference Office verifies payment has been made on your Summer Housing charges. Please note, failure to pay does not release you from your agreement with the University. Room Layout Beaujolais Suites are 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom, furnished apartments. Cable, internet, and phone jacks are active during the summer with scheduled periods of maintenance. The Conference Office will do its best to notify residents of these dates and times http://www.sonoma.edu/housing/images/BVmap.pdf Other Questions
Can I choose my suite mates? Room assignments are made based upon similar term dates. If you sign up for May 26th to July 29th and your requested suitemate has signed up for July 1st to August 18th, you probably won't be assigned to the same suite.
What if I want to change rooms/suites? Changes are made based on availability of a room in a suite with occupants having the same term dates as you. Due to the short length of the summer and the small number of summer residents, changes are not easily accommodated. No room or suite changes may be made without approval of the Conferences Office. Unauthorized changes shall result in additional charges for the room that has been moved into as well as the inability to contract with Housing to live on campus in the future. Can I live in my Spring 2008 or Fall 2008 room during the Summer? Summer Housing is only available in Bordeaux. Even if you are currently living in this building, you will have to move so that the maintenance and the cleaning crew can refurbish your suite. How does moving from my spring room to my summer room work? If you sign up to start on May 24th, you may live in your spring room until your summer room is made available. Typically, this would not be more than 4 days. When your summer room becomes available, you will have 48 hours to move out of your spring room. Please note, if you are a current spring resident and sign up for a May 24th start date, you must be available to move from your spring room within 48 hours of notification of you summer room being ready.
