Data are generated by researchers and classes undertaking projects at our preserves. Related databases include the SSU Biology Department which maintains museum collections of Preserve plants, algae and fungi (North Coast Herbarium of California), vertebrates (Jack Arnold Vertebrate Collection), insects and other invertebrates.

SSU Preserve projects emerge from management needs and opportunities at our preserves, and result in archived data sets (see Preserve Data above). Project descriptions serve as metadata of how data were collected and why.

The Center shares data collected at our preserves with researchers, students, and the public. Data sharing encourages diversity of analysis and opinion, creates opportunities for new research, and facilitates training of new researchers. We strongly encourage researchers working at our preserves to contribute to collaborative educational and research efforts by archiving their data at the Center.
Use of Preserve data in publications is contingent upon acknowledgement of the Center for Environmental Inquiry in the publication and notification of publication title or URL via e-mail to email@example.com. We request that you do not pass data to other parties or post data directly onto a website.
