Full-Time Leader

Service Description

Promise Fellow: Promise Fellows work under the direction of a supervising teacher, supporting daily program operations at one of our school sites. Promise Fellows serve as volunteer coordinators by recruiting and training volunteers to be mentors and tutors in the Sonoma SERVES program. Promise Fellows support the efforts to ensure that each child has caring relationships with adults, a healthy start, safe places to go after school, marketable skills through effective education, and an opportunity to serve the community.

Team Leader: Team Leaders work under the direction of a supervising teacher, supporting daily program operations at one of our school sites. Team Leaders provide overall leadership and guidance to a team of full-time and part-time AmeriCorps Mentors who serve directly with students participating in each program. Team Leaders support the development, training, and teambuilding for all Mentors who staff the program. They are also involved in organizing extended projects, facilitating parent involvement, and assisting in the coordination of events like book drives and National Days of Service.

Commitment

• Year of Service: August 6, 2007-June 20, 2008 (minimum of 1700 hours)
• Weekly commitment: Average of 45-55 hours per week
