Jonah Raskin has worked in radio, and for newspapers and magazines. He’s also written for Hollywood and created the story and the characters for HOMEGROWN. Since 1981, he has called Sonoma State University his academic home. Since 1989 he has been in the communication studies department where he teaches media law, journalism, and memoir writing. He also coordinates the internship program.
His books include FIELD DAYS: A YEAR OF FARMING, EATING, AND DRINKING WINE IN CALIFORNIA and THE RADICAL JACK LONDON: WRITINGS ON WAR AND REVOLUTION both from the University of California Press.
He has written articles, reviews, op-ed pieces for The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, The L.A. Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and The Nation. He’s a performance poet, and the author of five poetry chapbooks including LETTERS TO A LOVER and MORE POEMS, BETTER POEMS.
