Jonah
Raskin, the Chair of the Communication Studies Department,
has worked as a reporter, editor, publisher, screenwriter,
and Hollywood consultant. Educated at Columbia College in
New York, and the University of Manchester in England, he
is the author of six books, including FOR THE HELL OF IT:
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF ABBIE HOFFMAN, and MORE POEMS, BETTER
POEMS.
He wrote the story for the feature-length film HOMEGROWN,
and he is a contributor to both THE PRESS DEMOCRAT and the
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BOHEMIAN. Dr. Raskin teaches media law,
advanced media criticism, and he is the coordinator for the
COMS Department's internship program.
