Director
Lisa Wyatt, Ph.D., Psychologist, Director:
Lisa received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with an emphasis in health psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1997.She completed her APA internship at Hartford Hospital's Institute of Living where she received specialized training in eating disorders, psychological and neuropsychological assessment, inpatient and outpatient treatment. Lisa completed her post-doctoral training in the Counseling and Psychological Services center at the University of Hartford and was licensed as a psychologist in 1999. After spending four years as a staff psychologist, she was hired as the director of CAPS at University of Hartford in 2001 where she remained until becoming the director of Counseling and Psychological Services and Disabled Student Services at Sonoma State University in August 2007. Lisa's areas of clinical interest include: mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and couples counseling.
Faculty
Michael Pinkston, Ph.D., Psychologist, Internship Training
Coordinator:
Michael received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University in 1974. He became licensed as a Psychologist in California in 1976 and has provided counseling, consultation, and training in the following settings: university counseling center, community mental health, medical hospitals and clinics, psychiatric hospitals, Peace Corps Training, and an international exchange student program. He has been in private practice in Sonoma County since 1981 and has served as President of the Redwood Psychological Association and as a Board Member of the California Psychological Association. His professional interests include stress management, coping with health concerns, and dealing with life transitions.
Katie Hatch, Ph.D., Psychologist
Katie received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and was licensed as a psychologist in California in 2006. She most recently has worked in the counseling and psychological service centers at U.C. Berkeley and the University of Southern California. Katie's professional interests include prevention and treatment of depression and anxiety, eating and body image issues, and substance abuse. She also is interested in diversity issues, particularly regarding LGBTQ students, first generation college students, and international students. Katie additionally enjoys group counseling, training, and developing ways to incorporate outdoor experiential learning (e.g., ropes courses) into her counseling center work.
Trainees
Jenine Miller, M.A.:
Jenine received her Master of Arts degree for in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology/Alliant in 2005, and is currently finishing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with plans to graduate in June 2008. She has worked in various clinical settings such as preschools, San Francisco mobile crisis, community mental health centers, and county mental health centers. Jenine's clinical interests include women's issues, eating disorders, substance abuse, anger management, domestic violence, trauma, and ethnic, racial, and cultural.
Bob Nemerovski, M.A.:
Bob received his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in
2007 where he is working towards his Doctor of Psychology degree. His prior
clinical experience includes counseling adults experiencing acute
psychiatric crises and providing ongoing individual psychotherapy to college
and graduate students, teachers, and other adults from an urban community.
His clinical interests include multicultural concerns, stress reduction,
developmental and identity issues, and interpersonal relations. Bob's
dissertation focuses on "Road Rage" and ways individuals can reduce their
stress and anger while driving.
Leslie Arno, M.A.:
Leslie received her Master of Arts degree from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California where she is also a doctoral candidate. She is planning on graduating in June of 2008. Leslie's previous experience includes work with adolescents in the juvenile court system, and outpatient community mental health issues, gender and identity, and treatment of eating disorders as well as trauma and PTSD.
Jessica Ballou, M.A.:
Jessica received her M.A. at California School Professional Psychology/Alliant International University and is currently finishing her Psy.D in general clinical psychology. Jessica has worked in a variety of clinical settings in the Bay Area, including adult inpatient mental health, community mental health center, and school counseling. This is Jessica's second year working in a university counseling center, having been an intern at University of San Francisco last year. Her clinical interests include eating and body image concerns, depression, and identity development.
Administrative Staff
Keri Harris, Administrative Coordinator:
Keri has been with Counseling and Psychological Services for several years. She is recent graduate of Sonoma State University, majoring in American Multicultural Studies and Women and Gender Studies. Keri is currently in pursuit of her Masters Degree in Social Work. Her interests include ethnic studies, diversity and cross cultural issues and social and economic justice.
