New CTPD Faculty Associates-
As part of the commitment to increased support of faculty development efforts at SSU, CTPD has launched two new faculty associate positions for 2008-2009. These positions are designed to increase the visibility and capacity of faculty development efforts at Sonoma State University, providing further support while promoting excellence in teaching, research and creative activities.

SSU Wins 2008 CSU ATI Award
The EnACT project at SSU has won the CSU ATI Award for "Best Practice in Training and Communication." In addition, Scott Kupferman (DSS) was recognized with an "ATI Champion Award."
SSU Receives $100K for STEM Faculty Development
Brett Christie and Emiliano Ayala procured funding for "Access by Design" (AxD), an innovative faculty development program in support of students with disabilities across three CSU campuses across Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. AxD will provide STEM faculty from Sonoma State, San Francisco State and CSU Pomona the skills, support and training necessary to ensure that students with disabilities are provided a high quality postsecondary education. Transforming Course Design
SSU has been awarded a grant from the CSU "Transforming Course Design" Initiative. As a result, faculty will be paid to engage in a series of professional development experiences toward course redesign. Faculty participants include Brett Christie (facilitator), Sheila Cunningham (University Library), John Sullins (Sociology), Melissa Vandeveer (Nursing) and Tryon Woods (Criminology & Criminal Justice). Lou Zweier of the CSU Center for Distributed Learning is providing training in the use of Pachyderm for development of online units of instruction.
