Advanced Credentials and Related Programs
We offer three advanced programs for experienced teachers looking to become leaders in the field of Reading and Literacy Education:
- The Reading and Language Added Authorization program provides a solid foundation for teaching effective literacy practices to students from diverse language and cultural groups.
- The Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential licenses you to teach in specialized programs at the school level and to take leadership roles in Reading and Language Arts at the district level.
- The Masters Degree in Reading and Language is an academic degree, representing advanced knowledge and competence in your field. Our Master’s Degree candidates become experts in reading and writing for first and second language learners.
The coursework in the Educational Leadership graduate program leads to a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC I), the Preliminary Administrative Services Intern Credential, or the Professional Administrative Services Credential (PASC II). The credential programs are embedded in the Masters of Arts degree program with a concentration in Educational Leadership. Students admitted to the program have the option of completing their M.A. degree, in addition to the completion of requirements for their administrative credential .The Administrative Services Credential programs, Preliminary Level I and Professional Level II were designed collaboratively with school administrators to prepare graduates for positions of leadership in K-12 educational settings.
The Professional Level II Education Specialist Credential program is a coordinated course of study that provides direct support for beginning special education teachers after they have completed the Preliminary Level I Education Specialist Credential program and are employed in a special education position.
