Admissions Requirements and Deadlines

Thank you for your interest in the School of Education at Sonoma State University! Below you will find information regarding our admission periods for our programs and other useful information regarding submitting an application. For descriptions of our programs select "Choose a Program" on the navigation menu on the left, or select "Academic Programs" at the navigation bar above. Credential Programs or M.A. Programs. Spring 2014 ADMISSIONS

Now accepting applications for Spring 2014 admission for credential and graduate programs.

The EXTENDED Application Period for basic credential programs for Spring 2014 admission is September 16 - October 15, 2013. ONLY COMPLETE application packets will be accepted during the extended period.

The Priority Application Period for Spring admission was July 1, 2013 - September 15, 2013.

Application deadline for Master's and Advanced Credentials for Spring 2014 is November 1, 2013. Check the application download page for the latest information.

How to Apply | Download an Application | Attend an Information Workshop or Online Information Workshops

All Credential and Masters Degree Applicants Must Apply to BOTH SSU and the Specific School of Education Program:

  • You must apply to the Sonoma State University as a graduate/post baccalaureate student in order to be admitted to a Credential or Masters program in the School of Education.
  • For Spring 2014 admission, download this form, print and complete all the information required.
  • Return the SSU application to the School of Education with your School of Education Credential or Master's program application materials
  • Don't forget to include a check or money order application fee payment of $55 made out to SSU.

Spring 2014 Admissions

Applicants who submitted by the Priority Deadline (September 15, 2013) will:

  • Be in the first group of applications reviewed.
  • Participate in the first round of interviews.
  • If accepted into the program, possibly be eligible to register for classes during Second Pass registration session.
