Biography Statement

I have been teaching single subject credential and education courses since 2004 when I was invited to be the Educator in Residence for the Department of Curriculum Studies and Secondary Education. Before joining the SSU faculty, I was a middle school English teacher for 16 years. I have also been a guest presenter at a national poetry conference, have written curriculum for California State University, and partnered with public school teachers to develop career pathway courses and increase clinical experiences for credential candidates. In addition, I have been active in the development of performance assessments and professional development for novice and beginning teachers.
