SMTRI So You Want To Be a Science or Math Teacher
The first thing you should do if you are interested in becoming a science or math teacher, should be to contact Michael Roa, Interim Director of Project SMTRI, preferably via email at smtri@sonoma.edu or via phone at 707-664-2095 (voicemail), about our program AND review the School of Education Website with particular attention to the Single Subject Program. The Single Subject Program is the program that you would follow to become a science or mathematics teacher. For more information, please refer to the Single Subject Student Handbook. In addition, you will need to take some courses, demonstrate that you know your content material, pass some tests and security requirements and you are on your way to becoming a high school or junior high school science or mathematics teacher.
