Reading and Language Education
Overview of the Program
The School of Education offers three graduate programs in Reading and Language—an M.A. degree and two programs leading to state licensure:
- Reading Certificate, Transitioning to Reading and Literacy Added Authorization*
- Readign Specialist, Transitioning to Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential*
- Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Reading and Language
All courses in the two state-approved licensure programs may be applied to the MA degree.
*SSU School of Educations's Graduate Reading Program is currently redesigning its program to be in compliance with the upcoming new standards. The Reading and Literacy Added Authorization and Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credentials standards will be implemented as soon as fully approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
