Circle of Excellence, Celebrating Teachers
The School of Education welcomed faculty, staff and students for the annual event Celebrating Teachers and Circle of Excellence Awards on Wednesday, October 8 in the University Commons. This event recognizes the outstanding achievements of SSU School of Education alumni for work in area schools, and also honors local public school teachers and administrators who have served as mentors to SSU student teachers and administrators. The second annual F. George Elliott Scholarship recipients were also recognized at this event. Thanks to the SSU Alumni Association for their generous sponsorship of Celebrating Teachers. 2008 Elliott Fellowship for Professional Renewal and the Elliott Exemplary Student Teaching Scholarship

The second annual recipients of the two scholarships from the F. George Elliott Scholarship Fund will be publicly acknowledged on Wednesday, October 6 at the Celebrating Teachers reception at Sonoma State University. Elizabeth "Betha" MacClain of Santa Rosa High School's Art Quest program will receive the professional renewal award, and Monet Bell of Lattice Educational Services, Santa Rosa.
