Joint Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership
Sonoma State University in cooperation with UC Davis offers an exemplary doctoral program in Educational Leadership. The
program is designed for educational leaders and has an emphasis in service
at the K-12 and community college levels. The program’s curriculum,
designed to be completed in three years, includes four overarching and
interrelated themes integral to the academic and professional development
of educational leaders:
- Visionary Leadership and Management;
- Policy into Practice;
- Data for Decision Making; and
- Building Community in a Diverse Society
The program is designed for working professionals and includes the
writing of a dissertation. The program director for SSU is Dr.
Paul Porter.
