Noyce Scholarship Program for Math and Science Teachers
Eligibility
The Robert Noyce Scholarship Program for Math and Science
Teachers seeks to encourage talented Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) majors and Economics majors and professionals who might otherwise not
have considered the teaching profession, particularly those from
underrepresented groups. Each Noyce Scholar receives a maximum of three
years of scholarship support of up to $10,000 per year. Noyce Scholars are selected by consideration of academic achievement,
under-representation and financial need. Only those seeking a single subject credential in Biology, Chemistry, Geosciences, Mathematics,
You can apply either as a Sonoma State STEM undergraduate, or as a current or prospective student in a Sonoma State STEM credential program.
Minimum Requirements for STEM Undergraduates
- Have declared a major in a STEM/Economics discipline;
- Have completed at least 60 units, and have two years or less remaining to complete bachelor’s degree;
- Have an overall GPA and a GPA in math, economics, science, and technology courses no lower than 2.75, preferably with at least one of the GPAs above 3.0; and
- Be a US citizen, national, or permanent resident alien
Minimum Requirements for STEM Credential Candidates
- Have a degree in a STEM (science, technology, economics, engineering, or mathematics)/Economics discipline;
- Been accepted to, be enrolled in, or have applied to enroll in, Sonoma State's STEM single subject credential program;
- Have met subject matter competency with the appropriate STEM waiver program or CSET exams;
- Have an overall undergraduate GPA and a GPA in math, science, and technology courses no lower than 2.75, preferably with one of the GPAs above 3.0; and
- Have and maintain an overall GPA of 3.3 in credential coursework;
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident
